Google Interview Experience
Recently I gave Interviews for Software Engineer position at Google India and got selected for it. So, this is my Google Interview Experience!
Who am I?
I am final year B Tech. student from VJTI Mumbai, Major in Information Technology.
I applied for the position on the careers page in the first week of the august. It is usually believed that you need a referral to get shortlisted for the interviews at Google, but that is not the case, because I did not have any referral, yet got a call for an interview within a couple of weeks of applying.
There was a total of 6 interviews divided into 3 groups: 1 online interview, first 3 onsite interviews and last 2 onsite interviews.
Online interview and first 4 onsite interviews were completely based on data structures and algorithms, while the last onsite interview was behavioral (googliness) interview. Due to covid-19 pandemic, all the interviews were online over google meet and all the coding was done in google docs.
For coding rounds, I was asked either 1 or 2 problems. For each of the problems I had to explain the solution on google docs, code the solution on google docs and finally dry run it on 2 to 3 sample test cases.
After clearing all 6 rounds my application was sent for hiring committee review and it took about a month to get acceptance from there.
After hiring committee review, my application was forwarded for team matching and it took another month for team matching and I finally received an offer after that.
I have also compiled a set of resources for technical interview preparation.
